Hunter and Windham Mountains, 6 and 14 miles away, offer all levels of  skiing, snowboarding & snow tubing in the winter time and chairlift rides and mountain biking throughout the summer-fall season. Hunter also offers up exciting Zipline courses for all levels, touting the longest Zipline in North America. 

There many incredibly impressive waterfalls in New York, but few compare with the beauty and grandeur of Kaaterskill Falls in the Catskills, just minutes from The Catskill Cabin! The falls are 260 feet in height, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in New York.

We love this place! It has a nice sandy beach for swimming and they have rowboat, kayak, canoe, SUP & paddle boats all available to rent. 

The super short hike to the site of the Catskill Mountain House provides the  reward of incredible vistas. Longer and more strenuous hikes can bring  you to such spots as Artist's Rock, Sunset Rock, Newman's Ledge, Boulder Rock from where you can look back at the lakes. Truly worth the effort and so rewarding for all senses! 

Tannersville, just 2 miles away, offers up restaurants, nightlight and shopping. 

Woodstock, Saugerties and Hudson are all charming towns within a 30 minute drive and offer up a wonderful array of cuisine choices, shopping, cultural experiences, music and more. Worth the short trip! 

The Hudson River Sky Walk, including Olana House and the Thomas Cole House are only 35 minutes away!
